Poche's Market and Restaurant is a true Cajun family establishment. Antoine
and Aleda Poché settled the village of Poché Bridge in the year 1859. In
this isolated farming community, Antoine, along with his wife and seven
children, owned and operated a store and cotton gin near the wooden bridge,
which is now known as Poché Bridge. The businesses were later destroyed by
fire, seriously affecting Antoine's health. Antoine's grandson Lug Poché and
his wife Eleanor established Poche's Market and Restaurant in 1962. Lug prided
himself on selling quality products and providing excellent service to his
customers. Lug retired in 1976, handing the reins over to his son Floyd , (pictured
here with his wife Karen), who in keeping with the traditions set
by his father, continues to provide the quality and service his customers have
come to expect.
Poche's Market and Restaurant is a food lover's dream. After sampling
Poche's wonderful plate lunches, ranging from smothered rabbit to Crawfish
Etouffeé, loyal patrons always visit the meat market to stock up on Poche's famous
boudin, meats,
sausages, and other specialty
items. For those who are unable to take their purchase home at the time, Mr.
Poché can have orders shipped anywhere in the World! Also, while visiting
Poche's don't forget to pick up some of the famous homemade hot sauce and
seasonings.
Family pride runs deep at Poche's. This combined with quality ingredients, provides
a truly palate-pleasing experience.
